Rainer Trinczek

Rainer Trinczek holds a full professorship for Sociology at the Friedrich-Alexander-University, Erlangen-Nuremberg since 2008. Before he was Professor of Sociology at the Technical University Munich. His research interests include industrial relations at all relevant levels, new tendencies in working conditions (including work-life-balance issues) and organisational change. At present and besides Eurofound’s IRS (EU-level), he is working in projects on the non implementation of the European Works Council Directive in German multinational companies, on workplace industrial relation in companies without a works council, on social aspects of innovation processes, and on the methodology of case studies. Rainer Trinczek has broad experience of comparative research projects at European level. Currently he is also serving as dean of the faculty of arts and humanities at FAU.
